This CCA is designed for students who have taken the “Lego Robotics Beginner CCA” in previous semesters at Stamford or have previous Lego Robotics knowlege. Initially, we will work in groups to build the robot and then progress to programs and functions. The students will learn how to program their robots to: navigate a maze, move items, react to sound and touch, just to name a few. Students will be given a provocation to investigate; during this time they will have to utilize additional materials to upgrade their robot to complete the task. The culminating task will be a competition where students will be asked to program their robot to perform different functions to complete a challenge. The last few sessions will be spent on reflecting and dissembling their robots. Mindful Coloring aims to focus on how we make choices and apply color design whilst making us more aware of the present moment. This process is similar to meditation, letting go of any thoughts about tomorrow or yesterday. By paying attention only to the present moment, students become more relaxed. Learn how to train the mind on how to focus which can help in routine study and work. Besides bringing relaxation and enhancing concentration, coloring improves fine motor skills, grip, hand-eye coordination and handwriting. All of these benefits help children in their everyday life.

In this CCA, we will explore classic outdoor games such as hopscotch, along with some indoor fun learning hand-clapping and string games.
